Our place is in the heart of the oldest parts of Barcelona and includes the remains of the city's Roman wall and several notable medieval landmarks.

Cathedral of Barcelona

Beautiful intricate 14th century gothic cathedral a few blocks away. Look for different gargoyles jutting out from the exterior walls, including lions, unicorns, elephants and witches. Don't miss the cloister garden home of a gaggle of 13 white geese representing a tragic tale in Barcelona's history.

Palau Reial Major ('Kings Square' in Catalan) is a Grand Royal Palace and complex of historic buildings within the ancient Roman wall. Great model of the historic city inside.

Ancient medieval archaeological ruins from 1st century BC to the 13th century AD in a monumental rambling underground space beneath Palau Reiel Major and Playa de Rei.

Basilica de Santa Maria del Pi

14th century Gothic style church with one of the largest rose windows in the world. Climb to the top of the bell tower to enjoy the magnificent views of Barcelona.

Placa Reial

Prominent square surrounded by 19th century buildings and colonnades. This sprawling plaza is a popular meeting point with outdoor cafes, restaurants, performers and nightclubs close to Las Ramblas.

Basilica of Santa Maria
del Mar

Completed in 1384, this stoic church in El Born with impressive massive stone columns and beautiful stained glass windows is the only surviving church in the pure Catalonian style.

Montjuic

Highest point in Barcelona and walkable from Passeig de Colom towards the Columbus Monument via beautiful cactus gardens on the slopes facing the harbour.

Montjuic Castle

Built in the 17th century, really just a fortress with nice views over the port, but not much else to see.

de Catalunya

Massive art museum containing hundreds of pieces from the medieval age to the 19th century. There is a fresco from our flat in the Medieval 13th century exhibit.

Sagrada Familia

Must see! One of Antoni Gaudi’s most famous works started construction in 1882 and planned to complete in 2026. Stunning towers, mosaics, columns and ethereal stain glass that floods the interior with color. Go up the towers for great views, but narrow walking down the spiral steps. Must book tickets in advance.

Sant Pau

Formerly Barcelona's most important hospital, this lavish art-nouveau complex feature stunning buildings, colorful tiled roofs, manicured gardens, underground tunnels and permanent exhibitions.

Casa Mila /
La Pedera

One of Guadi's iconic Modernista buildings on Passeig de Grarcia originally built as a private residence with a bold, undulating facade. The surreal roof has a collection of bizarre sculptural chimney stacks and a view to Sagrada Familia in the distance.

Casa Batllo

Built as Gaudi's private residence with its colourful tiled façade on Passeig de Grarcia. A great insight on how nature and geometry inspired his design. Take the self-guided augmented reality tour for the full experience.

Casa Vincens

This colourful, geometric, eccentric private house was Gaudi's first commission in Barcelona in the late 1800's. A truly avante garde expression for its time.

Park Guell

Gaudi's massive whimsical park feature's colourful mosaic features and fascinating buildings connected by stunning twisting stone structures, walkways and nature. A bit too far to walk, so take a taxi.

Arc de Triomf

is surrounded by beautiful green spaces and a long promenade flanked by monumental decorative lights making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll. Not far from Esa y Fred (see Bars & Restaurants)

is a very idyllic sprawling park adjacent to El Born and probably the greenest oasis in the megacity of Barcelona.

Tibidabo

Tallest hill overlooking the city topped with the modest Templo del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Catholic Church and strange fun fair at its base. A long haul to get there for not much reward. Except the hiking is meant to be good.
